Dean's Holy Smoke Pie
Dean’s Holy Smoke Pie has been a favorite at family gatherings for years. I have also made this recipe with two prepared oreo cookie crusts and it was yummy.
2 baked pie shells (I use frozen pie shells, bake according to directions)
8 oz. softened cream cheese
1 cup confectioners sugar
8 oz. container Frozen whipped topping thawed (Cool Whip)
2 small pkgs instant chocolate pudding mix
3 cups milk
chopped pecans (or whatever nuts you prefer, about ¼ cup)
In a bowl combine cream cheese, sugar, and 1 cup of the whipped topping. Put half of mixture in the bottom of each cooled pie shell. In another bowl, mix well the chocolate pudding & milk. Pour over cream cheese mixture. Top each pie with remaining whipped topping & nuts. Holy Smoke it’s good! If you take your pie shells already baked this recipe can be made at the campsite or picnic. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
