Jamie's Chicken Noodle Soup
Take this chicken noodle soup to a sick friend & they will love you forever.
1 whole chicken, split breast to lay flat
Enough water to cover chicken
2 ribs celery sliced (keep tops)
2 carrots sliced thin
1 ½ tsp rubbed sage
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp fresh ground black pepper
2 cans fat free chicken broth
2 cups uncooked noodles
Place split chicken cavity side up in stockpot or dutch oven & cover with water. Add celery tops, sage, salt & pepper. Boil till chicken is done. Remove from pan (save liquid) let chicken cool. Remove meat from bones discarding skin & place back in pot with liquid. Add celery, carrots & broth to pot & cook on low until vegetables are done. In separate pot boil noodles in water. Drain. Add cooked noodles to soup & serve.
