Apple CakeMom's Apple Cake recipe smells so good baking you can't wait to eat it! The baked apples and spices fill the whole house with goodness.1 cup vegetable oil 2 cups sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla 2 ½ cups flour 3 cups apples chopped 1 cup chopped pecans Mix oil, sugar, & eggs. Beat until creamy on low speed. Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder. Add in small amounts to sugar mixture. Add vanilla. Fold in apples & pecans. Spread in a 9” x 13” greased & floured pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes. Cool in pan. Glaze:
1 stick butter or margarine
In saucepan bring all ingredients to boil for 10 minutes. Pour over cooled cake.
