Camping & Picnicing...Recipes and Tips for a Successful Event

Do you love spending time outdoors...camping, gathering for a picnic, backyard barbecue or tailgate party? This site is designed to help you get organized, plan fabulous meals, and have time to enjoy what you love to do best. I have shared some of my family’s favorite recipes, essential cooking and food preparation tips, and shortcuts that you may find helpful.

Fall is a great time to go camping...the nights are cool and great sites are more available. Fall is also about FOOTBALL and that means tailgating. Whether you are planning a weekend trip or going to the game make sure you have all the gear you need. We can also help you with meal planning.

I hate it when I forget something so I have included an Essentials Checklist for packing your equipment. If you are pondering over what kind of tent is best for you, look at our Tent Selection page.

I believe even easy recipes should be tasty. Whether you are packing a picnic basket or grilling beside your tent, I will show you how to make it flavorful. Most of my recipes could be prepared at the site, however I did include some of our family holiday favorites...they were just too good to leave out. My cooking doesn't change much at campsite, I just do a lot more planning and preparation before we leave.

I have included a list of cooking terms and techniques will help make understanding recipes a snap. Please also read the Campsite Etiquette tips…your neighbors will thank you.

I would love for you to share your favorite recipe or tip with me. Click here to send your recipe or tip. If I use it on the site I will send you a gift of thanks. And for you English teachers...yes we do know that technically picnicking has a "k", but we just thought it looked funny.

This is a great time to plan an outdoor event...you know you need the break! Let's start planning...
